The Miracles of Tamanu Oil

Tamanu is a fatty nut oil extracted from the seeds of the tamanu tree grown in Asia and Australia. In my experience it is a miracle in a tiny bottle.

A client came to be with 3rd degree burns all over his body. He asked me for help. I directed him to tamanu oil and a few other supplements to support his healing. I let him know how important it is to apply the oil 3-5 times/daily. Months later he returned to share his deep gratitude. His skin was completely healed and NO scaring. I was humbled and in awe, once again, how nature provides healing for us without causing any further.

* The oil can be applied to open wounds without any discomfort.
* Relieves arthritis and joint pain.

Benefits of Tamanu Oil

As a fatty botanical oil, tamanu oil can smooth and soften the skin. It has other benefits, as well.

Contains antioxidants. Antioxidants fight free radical damage. When your body has an overload of free radicals that it can’t destroy, damage happens. This is one of the causes of faster aging in your skin. Tamanu oil is rich in antioxidants, and it is often added to anti-aging creams.

Provides sun protection. The sun causes a lot of damage to your skin. Tamanu seems to be able to absorb UV light within a fairly large spectrum, but more studies are needed before this can be used as sunscreen. It is still essential to wear sunscreen.

Fights germs. Tamanu oil is antibacterial and antifungal. It can help fight bacteria and fungus on the skin. This makes it helpful for:

  • Acne

  • Eczema

  • Wound infections

  • Fungal infections

Soothes eczema. Eczema skin tends to have higher amounts of bacteria, so tamanu’s antibacterial properties might be helpful. Tamanu oil is also anti-inflammatory, which can soothe eczema.

Heals wounds. Tamanu oil helps with wound closure, skin cell growth, and collagen production. All of these can help with wound healing.

Tamanu Oil Benefits

Tamanu oil has long been believed to have a number of health and beauty benefits, from wound healing to healthier hair. While not every single claim you come across has been scientifically researched, many have.

Tamanu oil for acne

A 2015 study looked at tamanu oil from five different parts of the South Pacific. A trusted source found that the oil exhibited high antibacterial and wound-healing activity against bacterial strains involved in acne, including Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes) and Propionibacterium granulosum (P. granulosum).

There’s also evidence of the oil’s anti-inflammatory properties. Together with its ability to kill P. acnes and P. granulosum, tamanu oil may also be helpful in treating inflamed acne.

Tamanu oil for acne scars

Tamanu oil has been used to successfully treat scars in a hospital setting. Numerous biological studies have shown that tamanu oil has wound-healing and skin regeneration properties.Trusted Source It’s been shown to promote cell proliferation and the production of certain components of your skin — including collagen and glycosaminoglycan (GAG) — all important in the healing of scars.

Tamanu oil is also rich in antioxidants, which have been shown to be beneficial in the treatment of scarring, as well as acne.

Tamanu oil for athlete’s foot

Tamanu oil is believed to be an effective remedy for athlete’s foot, a contagious fungal infection that affects the skin of the feet. Though the effects of tamanu oil specifically on athlete’s foot have not been studied, there’s quite a bit of evidence backing the oil’s antifungal properties
